First of all when I was at the gym this morning walking my little tush off on the treadmill one of the trainers found his way over to me. He often has clients that he trains right next to me in the same area where I stretch. So he came over to me and said, "Excuse me. I just wanted to say that if my clients and I are ever too loud while you're stretching, just let me know. I know we can get kind of crazy sometimes and I don't want to disturb your stretching." Well! Wasn't that really nice of him? I thought so. I told him I don't really notice because my music is usually so loud that I can't really hear them anyway. And I thanked him for being so considerate. It was a feel-good moment.
Then as I was leaving the gym and pulling out of the parking lot, I went to hand my token (yes, 50 cents for each time I have to park in the lot!) to the parking attendant and he said, "No, you didn't show up yesterday and I told you the day before that I would give you a free pass. So today you don't have to pay." I thanked him and told him that was so nice and he's always so nice. He told me it's because I'm always so nice to him and such a beautiful woman too.
So as you can see my day started off very well. So I just have a good feeling all around me today. And this on a day when I even have to work with my most dreaded coworker. But I can handle it since I'm stocked up on good feelings.
Be kind today. Smile. Say thanks. Someone will certainly appreciate it!
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
