Come on motivation!!! Come on!!!!

I will admit that it's very hard to stay motivated to eat right when you're not working out. You don't need to be fueled in the same way. But when you're not working out you have to watch what you eat even more!! So I've been good. I haven't strayed much at all! Actually I've pretty much only eaten on my plan except for 2 Swiss truffles (one dark, one milk) fresh from Sprüngli in Switzerland brought back by a friend!
Okay, I'm not even a huge chocolate person but I went to this confectionery in Zurich when I was there and their truffles are ridiculous! Actually anything dairy in Switzerland is ridiculously good!!! I had their pretzel bread with butter when I was there. Fuggedaboudit! Soooo tasty! And also I had some fondue there (again not really a cheese person either) that knocked my socks off. I will NEVER eat fondue in America again! Nothing can compare. Hmmm....I think I need to get back there ASAP! Oh! And let's not forget about their bratwurst! Ridiculous! Memories...

So the truffles were a temptation I couldn't resist just because it's not every day that someone goes to Switzerland, ya know! The tortilla chips that have been staring at me all week are something I have resisted. Yes! Me! The CHIP FREAK!!!! They ARE my weakness. Look at them...

Fresh tortilla chips

But I resisted so I'm quite proud of myself. Quite...thank you very much!! LOL!

Okay, moving on from all that ridiculousness! I did make some oatmeal protein cookies yesterday but they were too dry. Don't worry. I'm going to perfect the recipe and we will be able to enjoy our oatmeal cookies soon enough! Yes! You will enjoy. They're close to perfect already!

I finished off my day of food with Broiled Tilapia and Crunch A Munch salad! I will never bore of that delicious meal! It's just the best and my FAVORITE healthy meal!

I didn't sleep well at all last night. I just felt like I was awake more than I was asleep! That drives me crazy and I'm always glad when the night's over in that case. Tonight it will be early to bed. Well, not too early because we all know what happens when I do that. Still undecided if I'll be working out tomorrow morning or rest one more day and then start up on Saturday. Going back into working out is always tricky for me because I enjoy it so much that I tend to overdo it. So I think it would be good to start out with shoulders, tris and abs tomorrow and then Saturday I can do some "easier" lower body workout. I have no desire to re-injure my knee so I have to be very cognizant of what I'm doing with my workouts whatever I end up doing. I'll keep you posted.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday. Friday's almost here...it's peeking 'round the corner...

Oh, yes I bought this little taster package of Cacao Bliss yesterday!
Let me just say that I am VERY glad I just bought the taste size because that thing is DELICIOUS!!!!! For all you chocolate lovers, boy oh boy is this for you! Oh yes! I am not even a chocolate lover but I know some good tasting chocolate items when I taste one and this is definitely one! I'm scared to have it in my house but I'm going to buy a real jar of it at some point because it is divine! Yes, I'll graduate to this size.

This would definitely be a "face your fears" purchase though! I mean look at it...oh my goodness!!! It's too too good! I've seen this at the store for a long time and never bought it but when I saw the sample pack yesterday I thought I had better buy it and I did. TRY it if you haven't! You'll love it! These are the ingredients and nutrition info:

Ingredients: 100% Organic Coconut Butter, 100% Organic Extra Virgin coconut Oil, 100% Organic Agave Syrup, 100% Organic Cacao, 100% Organic Cacao Butter

YES, it's THAT good!!! So that was my dessert last night. Yes, just a packet of Raw Cacao Bliss! It was perfect and heavenly!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

 WOOHOOO!!!! It's my birthday! In celebration I got up early and headed to the gym for some HIIT! Yep, 5:30 and some pretty hardcore HIIT on the stepmill with speed intervals. Low interval was level 14 and high interval was level 18!! Woot woot!! I don't think I've ever done level 18 so good job me!!

So I come into this birthday weighing less than I've weighed on birthday EVER!!! LOL! Kidding of course but weighing less than I ever have at this height (about age 15)...a mere 29 years ago!! And feeling just as good if not better than I did then!! Can you believe it? Honestly a year ago I would not have believed it.

I already know that I'm getting birthday cake later today. My friend and coworker brought me my fave - white cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream frosting from Phoenix Bakery !! Oh man!! I can't wait! I think I may be over my quota on all things good today since I started out with 2 truffles from Sprüngli in Switzerland.

My boss's wife just got back from Switzerland and brought a box of these! Their chocolate is the BEST! I don't know what they do to their cows but I love, love, love Swiss chocolate and butter. And when you go to Sprüngli in Switzerland you have to get the pretzel bread sandwich with BUTTER and ham! TO DIE FOR!!!! I love butter, to be honest. And yes, even though I rarely eat it now I still love it!!
BUTTER RULES THE WORLD!!!!

Mmmmmmmmmm........
Well, I better get back to work ! Hope you all have a GREAT and FANTASTIC day! Here's to birthdays!! They're fun!

One-Minute Chocolate Protein Cake

One-Minute Chocolate Protein Cake

This is the link: http://foodsofapril.com/?p=4337 to the blog where I found this fantastic recipe!

Ingredients:
* 1/2 scoop of protein powder
* 1 tbsp 100% cocoa powder
* 1/4 tsp baking powder
* 2 packets stevia (I used 1/2-1 T Just Like Sugar) or whatever sugar substitute you want
* 1 tbsp pumpkin or applesauce (I used pureed zucchini and have also used cooked yam)
* 1 egg white
Directions:
1. In a microwavable cup, place the protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, and stevia. Mix well.
2. Stir in the egg white and pumpkin so that you end up with a thick batter.
3. 3. Microwave for 1 minute.
4. Use a knife to gently loosen it from the mug. Place the mug upside down on a plate and let the cake come out.
5. Cut in half and fill with desired toppings- peanut butter, yogurt, cream cheese, laughing cow, etc!
 Really, you all must try it and spread a little peanut butter on it and oh my!!! You will die! You'll see..

And the rain comes down...

Tonight I did Day 4 of the Half Body Workout found here http://figureathlete.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/training/half_body_workouts_and_a_conteston the Figure Athlete website. It felt good but it was pretty tough. I'm definitely getting stronger though and that is a great feeling!

I also had 2 little squares of chocolate tonight. They tasted so good. It's been a long time since I just had a little chocolate. Those of you that know me know that I don't crave chocolate or really sweets for that matter. Chips and fries though? THOSE are an entirely different story!

Dinner was spaghetti squash with just a little olive oil and sea salt with tilapia. Delicious! I also had a few almonds before toddling off to bed. Now it's just floss and brush my teeth, put on face cream and into bed for a little reading and then deep, peaceful sleep.

Until morning...
